In this capacity, he is responsible for providing technology and management consulting services to the New York City Employees' Retirement System and various insurance companies such as MetLife. Prior to this role, he served as the vice president and a global client partner at iGATE Global Solutions from 2012 to 2014. Mr. Andersen initially began his career as an engineer at Northrop Grumman, where he worked from 1979 until 1986.
Mr. Andersen continued his career serving as a senior project manager at Salomon Brothers Inc. from 1986 to 1989. Between 1989 and 1994, he garnered expertise as a manager at the New York City Metropolitan Transportation Authority, and subsequently, at Deloitte from 1994 to 1996. Following this post, he was active as a senior manager of mergers and acquisitions at KPMG LLP from 1996 until 2000, and then as a director of insurance practice at the eFunds Corporation from 2000 to 2001. Between 2002 and 2004, Mr. Andersen served as the president of RSA Consulting, followed by the post of a global client partner at Cognizant Technology Solutions from 2004 to 2012.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Andersen pursued an education at the Academy of Aeronautics, where he obtained an associate's degree in aeronautical design. He continued his academic efforts at the New York University Polytechnic School of Engineering, earning a Bachelor of Science and, subsequently, a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He then attained a Master of Business Administration from the New York University Stern School of Business. As a commitment to his field, he is a certified scrum master, an agile certified practitioner and a project management professional. Additionally, Mr. Andersen has been active with several industry-related organizations, including the New York City Chapter of the Project Management Institute and the Knights of Columbus.
Though his professional journey has been filled with many memorable moments, Mr. Andersen is most proud of the expertise that he has garnered in his specialty and of writing and developing all the analysis and the technical details for the space shuttle wings, for which he received several recommendations for pursing his doctorate degree. Reflecting on a long career, he attributes much of his success to his wife and parents, who instilled in him a strong work ethic, self-reliance and the value of hard work and dedication. Looking toward the future, Mr. Andersen aspires to serve as a philanthropist and hopes to contribute more to his community.
