Izabel Depina ("Iza X") Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Education

Ms. Depina lends years of expertise to her work with the Public Higher Education Network of Massachusetts



    DORCHESTER, MA, November 04, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Izabel Depina ("Iza X") has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Driven to serve as an inspiration for others, Ms. Depina pursued a career in the field of education, culminating in her current role as a regional organizer with the Public Higher Education Network of Massachusetts, where she organizes students to fight for free education. After surviving an abusive relationship, going to school helped her deal with her trauma. Due to her experiences, she developed a passion for making a difference in the world through education. Outside of her work, Ms. Depina is a member of the Roxbury Community Partnerships 2.0., and serves as president of PHENOM.

An expert in her field, Ms. Depina earned a Bachelor of Arts in labor studies from the University of Massachusetts Boston, where she was introduced to WILD through which she has learned valuable leadership skills. Through her affiliation with Women's Institute for Leadership Development (W.I.L.D), she has lent her voice to the Cherish Act, the Student Opportunity Act, and Debt-Free Future. Similarly, she led the community of Randolph in the Black Lives Matter March for Justice. For her professional achievements, Ms. Depina received a citation from Governor Baker. She is also a grad master student at UMass Boston in conflict resolution MA and her Capstone Masters Project) title is Addressing US Structural Racism through Debt Relief by Nonviolence Demonstration: The Case of PHENOM (Public Higher Education Network of Massachusetts).

The cornerstone of Ms. Depina's success lay in her personal experience. She had a stroke when she was just 17 days old, which paralyzed her right side and put her in a coma for five months. Stemming from such a background gave her direction, inspiration, and motivation. Within the next three to five years, she intends to experience the continued growth and success of her career. Ultimately, Ms. Depina aims to further advocate for others through her work with the Public Higher Education Network of Massachusetts.
