FORT LAUDERDALE, FL, November 07, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Denise V. Aloma has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Drawing on nearly five decades as an educator, Dr. Aloma is recognized for her success as principal of St. Thomas Aquinas High School, a Roman Catholic, co-educational college preparatory school. Known for her professional longevity, Dr. Aloma has served the school and its students for more than 40 years, first as an English teacher and later as assistant principal. She has served in her current role since 2016.

Ultimately, Dr. Aloma believes her profession is noble and that the profession chose her, but she had the additional guidance of colleagues, mentors and her Catholic faith to send her on a path of success. Of her many career achievements, she is especially proud of her role in developing a study skills program to address the needs of underserved and academically struggling students. Interacting with those students and making a difference in their lives captured the essence of why she became an educator.

Dr. Aloma's performance in the field was born of her academic journey. She earned a bachelor's degree in English with a minor in sociology from the University of Windsor, a diploma in education from the University of the West Indies, and both a master's degree and a Doctor of Education from Nova Southeastern University. In recognition of her contributions to her profession, she received the Power Leader in Education Award from the South Florida Business Journal in 2021.

Known for her contributions as a civic-minded citizen, Dr. Aloma is an active volunteer with Food For The Poor, Inc. and with churches in Jamaica and Trinidad. A dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, she enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband, three children and nine grandchildren.
