ENCINO, CA, November 08, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Rose Eichenbaum has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Ms. Eichenbaum is the author of numerous books among them, Masters of Movement--Portraits of America's Choreographers, a collection of conversational interviews and photographic portraits published by The Smithsonian Books as an important historic document of dance in America. It led to a three-year national photographic exhibition hosted by The Smithsonian Institution's Traveling Exhibition Service. In addition to her books on dance and theater, she served as photographer for The Number on My Grandfather's Arm (UAHC Press) which was awarded the Sydney Taylor Book Award in 1988. It is considered an important resource in the teaching of the events of WWII and the Holocaust to children.
Currently Ms. Eichenbaum is in the process of working on her latest book entitled, The Creative Imperative, which is a collection of conversational interviews and photographic portraits featuring many of the biggest names in art and entertainment. They include such distinguished individuals as documentary filmmaker Ken Burns, world famous illusionist David Copperfield, legendary singer-songwriter Brenda Russell, the late Academy Award winning actor Martin Landau, jazz guitarist George Benson, Broadway's triple threat Chita Rivera and more.
In addition to her work as a successful free-lance and editorial photographer, Ms. Eichenbaum has also enjoyed a most gratifying career in education having served on faculty of the Beverly Hills Unified School District for more than two decades. She has also taught in the School of Media, Culture and Design at Woodbury University in California, and led a popular photographic workshop (The Art of Photographing Dance) at world renowned Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival for nearly ten years.
Before embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Eichenbaum earned a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in dance from UCLA. In light of her outstanding body of work, she received an award of recognition for her photographic achievements by the Minolta Corporation in 2000. While her career has been filled with standout moments, she takes the most pride in the books she has authored on the art of dance. She takes great joy having seen so many aspiring dancers lovingly clutching her book as Gregory Hines does his tap shoes as pictured on the book's cover. Many students have thanked her for creating a thorough dance resource and producing something that has validated their passion for the art form. The cornerstone of her success lay in the teachers and many artists whom she's interviewed who've inspired her throughout her career. Within the next five to ten years, Ms. Eichenbaum aims to expand upon what she is doing now via books, photographic exhibitions, a lecture series, and blog.
