With more than 50 years of excellence to her credit in writing and communications, Ms. Bergstresser has earned distinction as the originator of Global Peace Superstars. Since 2022, she has been a consultant, focusing her efforts on building bridges of communications across cultures to promote global peace. Prior to her current role, Ms. Bergstresser has formulated strategies for a variety of projects in television, film, news production and major top music celebrities and groups of the late 1970's. She served as the Director of Outreach and Public Affairs for the National Council For Adoption in 2001 and was appointed the Director of the International Press Center in Baghdad, Iraq by the United States Department of State in 2005-06. After serving in this role, she became a Senior Consultant for media strategy in 2006 until taking a role as the Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs Advisor for Iraq with the United States Department of State. She currently is a media advisor for non-profit peace organizations.
Outside of her primary career efforts, Ms. Bergstresser has been a senior media and marketing strategy consultant specializing in the Middle East and North Africa since 2012. Over the course of her career, she has worked with ABC News, CBS News, CNN, Adopt-A-Special-Kid and the Japan Society, among many other organizations. She was a media consultant for the Press Club of San Francisco and served as an account executive for Levinson & Associates. Also an accomplished poet, she has received numerous writing awards, including an editor's choice poetry award from Poetry.com and an award from the California High Chaparral Poets. Additionally, she is a valued member of the National Press Club.
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Bergstresser attended Modesto Junior College in 1963 and 1964; she attended the University of Grenoble in France in 1964 and 1965. She then studied at California State University in 1965 and the College of Holy Names in 1966. Well-qualified in her field, she has received a Certificate of Excellence and a Certificate of Merit for her work. Among her professional accomplishments, she is proud to have secured a patent for a folding guide in 2000. She also was honored with an Award of Excellence from the State Department in 2012.
Within the coming years, Ms. Bergstresser intends to continue promoting bridge-building globally, promoting cross-cultural understanding and mutual respect as the keys to peace. She highly values learning as a lifelong pursuit, believing there are solutions to every issue that everyone can benefit from without conflict.
