Drawing on more than two decades of experience in his chosen field, Mr. Calderon has earned distinction as the owner and chief executive officer of CALD & A Consulting Company LLC since 1996. In this capacity, he has focused much of his efforts on federal, state and municipal projects, and is most proud to have contributed to the construction of buildings, bridges and other important public works that serve as a benefit to society at large.
Mr. Calderon initially drew inspiration from the example of his father, who crossed into the United States from Mexico when the Bracero labor program of 1942 was still in effect. While his work prevented him from attaining an education, he became a U.S. citizen through five years of hard work, thus paving the way for his children to achieve what he could not.
After Mr. Calderon attained a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of New Mexico, he was immediately recruited by the Kiewit Corporation, one of the largest construction companies in North America. In this role, he ascended the ranks and became a structure superintendent within three years. Following this accomplishment, Mr. Calderon went on to work as a general foreman for KBR Inc., after which he distinguished himself as the owner of Italia Construction for over a decade.
Outside of his career endeavors, Mr. Calderon is grateful to have served as an exemplary father to ten children, two of whom became medical doctors, while another followed his example in becoming an engineer. His wife, meanwhile, is an accomplished restaurateur, and owns the Neon Moon Oyster Bar, Danny's Tacos and Torres Mochas. Looking toward the future, Mr. Calderon hopes to continue expanding the scope of his career and achieving further prosperity.
