    JACKSON, WY, November 15, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Gary S. Roubin, MD, PhD has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Drawing on years of professional experience, Dr. Roubin presently excels as a director of InspireMD Inc. and Excision Medical Inc., where he also serves as an interventional cardiology and vascular consultant. InspireMD is taking its state of the art carotid stent to the US market. Through his work at Excision Medical, he manages the device development regulatory pathways and clinical applications for products they are developing for the lifetime management of percutaneous transaortic valve replacement devices. Similarly, he sits on the executive committee of the CREST2 Trial, a National Institutes of Health prospective randomized trial comparing carotid revascularization with medical therapy.

During the early stages of his career, Dr. Roubin gained valuable expertise in the fields of medicine and education as a faculty member at the Emory University School of Medicine, chief of interventional cardiology at The University of Alabama at Birmingham, and as the department chairman and chief of service for the Lenox Hill Hospital Cardiac and Vascular Program. He is recognized for his groundbreaking work on bringing the first coronary stent, the Gianturco-Roubin Flex Stent to the US market. He has also pioneered carotid stenting and the leading XACT stent and NAV6 Embolic Protection System. Due to his vast breadth of knowledge, Dr. Roubin has contributed to more than 280 papers in peer-reviewed journals, edited and contributed to multiple textbooks and published "The First Balloon-Expandable Coronary Stent: An Expedition That Changed Cardiovascular Medicine." Likewise, he is the inventor on 10 domestic and 41 international patents.

Outside of his work, Dr. Roubin aligns himself with the American College of Cardiology, the Royal Australian College of Physicians, the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Intervention, the Society for Vascular Medicine and Biology, the Society for Interventional Radiology, the International Society of Endovascular Specialists, and the International Society for Vascular Surgery. An expert in his field, Dr. Roubin holds an MD from the University of Queensland and a PhD in cardiovascular physiology through the Sydney University Hospital. Throughout his career, Dr. Roubin has also expanded upon his knowledge by completing coursework, residencies, and fellowships at Emory University Hospital, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, and the Royal Australasian College of Physicians of Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases.

Due to his professional achievements, Dr. Roubin won a two-year grant through the National Heart Foundation of Australia to undertake postdoctoral research with Andreas Gruentzig, the "ETHICA" Award from Erasmus Thoraxcenter Interventional Cardiology, the Eugene Drake Award for Contributions to Cardiovascular Medicine, and the Lifetime Achievement Award through the International Symposium on Endovascular Therapy.
