GROTTOES, VA, November 16, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Prof. Carol Kniebusch Noe has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. With years of expertise to her credit, Prof. Noe enjoyed a fulfilling career in music education at James Madison University, where she primarily taught students the finer points of playing the flute. She previously taught at the University of British Columbia, during which time she also participated as a member of the Vancouver Symphony. Following this period, Prof. Noe relocated to the state of Maryland, where she performed in the Baltimore Symphony and joined the staff at James Madison University, which recognized her with The Distinguished Teaching Award in 1991. Likewise, she is a former member of the Roanoke Symphony and served for several years on The Board of Directors of The National Flute Association.
Invited to play the flute all over the world, Prof. Noe performed many solo recitals throughout England, Canada, Venezuela, China and the Soviet Union. She also wrote several articles for such professional publications as Flute Talk, The Instrumentalist, Pan and Flutewise. Furthermore, in 1996, she became a published author with the release of "A Guidebook to Flute Choir Literature."
Prof. Noe first sought an education at Illinois Wesleyan University, from which she earned a Bachelor of Music. Following this accomplishment, she undertook graduate-level studies at Indiana University and graduated with a Master of Music. Among her subsequent career highlights, she is most proud to have been given temporary possession of a crystal flute once played by James Madison, which she played on the former president's 250th birthday on March 14th, 2001.
Now retired from teaching, Prof. Noe has dedicated much of her time to her favorite pastime; breeding and showing dogs, as well as serving as a licensed judge on behalf of the American Kennel Club. As with her career as a professional flutist, her work as a dog judge has enabled her to travel throughout the world, presiding as a judge at dog shows in the United States, England, Scotland, France, South Korea and China. For her own part, Prof. Noe bears a particular affinity for Pekingese, which she bred and displayed for 25 years before she steered her career toward judging.
