Susan Tesseneer-Pope Presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award by Marquis Who's Who

    CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY, November 16, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marquis Who's Who, the world's premier publisher of biographical profiles, is proud to present Susan Tesseneer-Pope with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Ms. Tesseneer-Pope celebrates many years' experience in her professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes she has accrued in her field. With more than 40 years of experience to her credit, Ms. Tesseneer-Pope has excelled as an artist, educator and author, working on Hurtsuch books as "Wife of a Southern Godfather" in 2020 and "Gifts: In Celebration of Women" in 2000. As an artist, she was additionally active as an oil portrait painter, crafting works and exhibiting in many one woman art shows between 1980 and 2020. Moreover, Ms. Tesseneer-Pope flourished at Campbellsville University in a number of capacities, including as a fine art photographer, a patron for the visual arts and an adjunct art professor.

In addition to these appointments, Ms. Tesseneer-Pope worked independently as a fine arts photographer in Sikeston, Missouri, from 1990 to 2002. She previously operated out of a private dress shop, Susan Street Fashions, between 1974 and 1986. Ms. Tesseneer-Pope began her career as a teacher in Lilbourn, Missouri from 1974 until 1979.

Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Tesseneer-Pope pursued an education at Blue Mountain College, completing coursework between 1958 and 1960. She continued her academic efforts with coursework at the University of Memphis from 1962 to 1964. Following these accomplishments, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science at Southeast Missouri State University in 1974. Subsequently certified as a teacher in the state of Missouri, Ms. Tesseneer-Pope concluded her studies with creative writing coursework at Harvard University in 2002.

Beyond her primary responsibilities in the field, Ms. Tesseneer-Pope has participated in numerous endeavors within her professional circles. From 1990 to 1994, she contributed to Missouri Citizens for the Arts as a liaison to the U.S. Congress. Furthermore, Ms. Tesseneer-Pope found success on the board of directors for the Community Concert of Missouri in 1990, the Missouri Arts Council from 1993 to 1999, Somewhere in Time LLC from 2006 to 2009 and Board of directors Adanta from 2010 to 2013.

Ms. Tesseneer-Pope remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to her areas of expertise, including the Arts Students League of New York, the Professional Photographers of America, the American Society of Portrait Artists and the National Writers Association. In 1980, she held the position of a charter member of the Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C. In light of her exceptional undertakings, Ms. Tesseneer-Pope was selected for inclusion in multiple editions of Who's Who in America.

Encouraged by her mother, an aspiring artist limited by issues of depth perception, Ms. Tesseneer-Pope was drawn to art at the age of five, at which point she was enrolled in art classes and was instructed to find a mentor. She briefly served as a representative for noted portrait artist Cleta Curtis, a writer for a Q&A beauty column, Savvy from Susan and a judge for Miss America in Missouri. She subsequently discovered her propensity for photography, which was fostered by a chance meeting with photographer Jay Stock. She later studied with Mr. Stock, who eventually became her mentor and penned the foreword for her book. Looking toward the future, Ms. Tesseneer-Pope hopes to expound upon her life through her writings, while helping young women become professional photographers.
