With a background as a mortgage broker, Capt. Lawler is recognized for his expertise as a realtor, focusing on residential sales. Since 2011, he has worked with Premiere Plus Realty-Marco Home Sales, a two-person operation that Capt. Lawler runs with his sister and fellow real estate agent, Emily Peters. Together, they draw on extensive knowledge of the real estate industry and the area to help clients of the Marco Islands and Naples area meet their goals. Prior to cofounding his real estate agency, Capt. Lawler served as a loan officer, working for Eagle Nationwide Mortgages from 2006 to 2009 and Integrity Home Loans from 2000 to 2006. He holds a high school diploma. Of his many career achievements, Capt. Lawler is especially proud of being recognized on the cover of Real Producers magazine; he and Ms. Peters were selected for the honor out of 500 people, and the recognition was evidence to the pair that their hard work was paying off.

Today, most of his business is referral-based.
Capt. Lawler holds a Sea Captain License OUPV (6-pack license) from the United States Coast Guard — he owned an offshore fishing charter company while building the real estate business — and he is a member of the National Rifle Association and the Porsche Club of America. He supports the Wounded Warriors Project, the American Cancer Society and St. Matthew's House. A dog owner and animal lover, he is also a supporter of the Humane Society.
