Robert Hitter Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Education

Mr. Hitter retired from his work as an educator in 1997

    CHESHIRE, MA, November 21, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Robert Hitter has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. After serving as an educator for 35 years, Mr. Hitter retired from teaching in 1997. Over the years, he taught science, reading, mathematics and Religious Studies in both Catholic and Public Schools in Brooklyn and Queens, New York and Massachusetts. He has been an ordained Deacon in the Catholic Church since 1987. In that capacity he taught youth and adult Religious and Marital Education programs. He was involved in Scouting as a Boy Scout and Cub Scout Leader. He remained active in Scouting, through which he participated in many training programs, earning a number of awards, including Wood Badge, an adult Leadership Training program.

Known for contributions as civic-minded citizens, Mr. Hitter, and his wife Diane support a number of charitable, religious and environmental organizations. Prior to embarking upon his professional journey, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development from Iowa State University. To further his expertise in the field of education, Mr. Hitter attained a Master of Science degree in education from Brooklyn College. He also continued his education with four years of study to become an ordained Deacon. He has conducted a number of science training courses during his career.

To commemorate his accomplishments, Mr. Hitter was awarded a Teacher of the Year Award from New York State in 1987. He also received the Educator of the Year award in 1984 and 1989 from the Diocese of Brooklyn. He is an Eagle Scout, and was the recipient of the three-bead Wood Badge honor during his time as a leader.
