Since 2012, she has built a prolific career at Wexford Health Sources Inc., where she first served as a regional manager from 2012 to 2015, then as an associate director of administrative services from 2015 until 2018, an operations management consultant between 2018 and 2020, and since 2020, as the vice president of operations. In this capacity, she has served in the State of Indiana managing the medical, behavioral health, dental and transitional health services provided to 18 adult and three juvenile prisons. She now serves providing oversight in the State of Illinois, ensuring quality operations and contract compliance, budgeting and financial performances, client satisfaction, staff recruitment, process and corrective action plan development as well as strategic planning. Ms. Scott initially began her vocation as a health care data analyst at Correctional Medical Services, which changed to Corizon Health, where she worked from 2005 until 2012.
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Scott pursued an education at Hampton University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology in 2004. She continued her academic efforts at the American InterContinental University, earning a Master of Business Administration in Health Care Administration and Management in 2006. As a commitment to her field, she is certified as a correctional health professional and has attained a Lean Six Sigma certificate of achievement from Villanova University in 2017. Additionally, she has been active with several industry-related organizations, including the Tampa Bay Chapter of the National Hampton Alumni Association where she serves as Treasurer, a proud member of the illustrious Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., and the National Commission on Correctional Health Care, to name only a few. Likewise dedicated to civic advocacy, Ms. Scott has contributed to the Big Brother Big Sister program, the Sickle Cell Foundation of Georgia Inc., and the Women in Unity for Christ organization.
Well regarded for her contributions to the field, Ms. Scott received the RAISE Award in 2013, and was inducted into the Hampton University Top 40 Under 40 Alumni Society in 2020. Among her professional accomplishments, she is most proud of her volunteer service to the board of an intercity youth charity organization, where her mentorship has inspired young individuals to succeed. Reflecting on her career, she attributes much of her success to her parents, Col (Ret) Artice and Denise Scott, her grandparents, godmother and her upbringing as a military child with exposure to diverse experiences. Additionally, Ms. Scott is gratified to have been mentored by many in her field over the years with a special thank you to Mr. Rodney Scales, who was instrumental in her advancement into management of correctional health care and has remained a valued friend and colleague.
