A recognized top producer in her market for more than 15 years, Ms. Santos has been interested in real estate since her early career days, right out of college. As an extension of her work, Ms. Santos is active as a guest speaker with Ithaca Neighborhood Housing Services, an organization which provides purchase assistance to first time buyers, as well as to homeowners who need help with repairs, energy improvements, and accessibility modifications.
Prior to becoming active in Real Estate, Ms. Santos was a personal trainer in New York City for Equinox Health Clubs. During this time she was approached with an offer to travel as a personal trainer and assistant tour manager for the legendary singer James Taylor. This was a great honor, and opened the door to a 30-city tour over the course of 5 months.
While living in NYC, Ms. Santos was fiercely competitive in the New York Road Runner's Biathlon competitions, earning 5 plaques for placing among the top 3 finishers by age group, between 2000-2004. She maintains her certification with ACSM - American College of Sports Medicine, and teaches and takes yoga classes regularly.
Locally, Ms. Santos serves on the board of the Community Foundation of Women's Organizations. She has a philanthropic heart and has recently included the Tompkins County SPCA, Bridges Cornell Heights, Doctors Without Borders, The Arc of Schuyler County, the Schuyler County Humane Society, and WXXI radio, in her annual giving plan. She volunteers her time at the renowned and historic State Theatre in Ithaca. Finally, when time permits, she rides and drives her Welsh pony Parker (aka Hunter Vale Park Avenue) and aspires to compete with him in pleasure driving shows in the northeast in the coming years.
A native of Lansing, Michigan, Ms. Santos was raised on the island of Guam, and completed undergraduate studies at the University of Hawaii, Manoa, where she earned her BFA in Dance in 1987. She moved to NYC in 1996 to continue studies at the Laban Institute of Movement Studies. In 2007 she made the decision to leave NYC for greener pastures in Upstate NY, in Ithaca to be exact. She earned her license to sell real estate, and continued to add credentials, including Graduate (of the) Realtor Institute, Seller's Representative Specialist, Accredited Buyer's Representative, and certification by NYU. Currently she is studying for her Broker's license, and is preparing for a new volunteer post with her dog Lucy as her partner; they hope to be certified soon as a Therapy Dog team.
