Chef Clay Peden has been Inducted into the Prestigious Marquis Who's Who Biographical Registry

An award-winning chef and instructor, Mr. Peden heads the culinary arts program at Central Arizona College

Looking toward the future, he hopes to continue his work with the next generation of culinary arts professionals.

    SAN TAN VALLEY, AZ, November 30, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Chef Clay Peden has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Drawing on more than a decade in the restaurant and catering industries, Mr. Peden is recognized for his expertise as culinary arts program director and professor of culinary arts for Central Arizona College. His duties there include teaching two daily culinary classes, including French, Mexican and Asian cuisine, culinary 101 classes, and advanced classes. Before joining the faculty of Central Arizona College in 2015, Mr. Peden was a culinary instructor at the American Leadership Academy, executive chef and catering chef at Riot Hospitality Group/El Hefe, banquet chef at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, and catering cook at M. Culinary Concepts LLC.

A leader in his field, Mr. Peden has earned recognitions for his skills as both a teacher and chef. He received a 2019 Excellent Teaching Award from the National Honor Society, took second place in the 2012 Battle of the Rising Chefs by Shamrock Foods, won the Scottsdale Culinary Festival Burger Battle by Leinenkugel's Brewing Company, and earned a 2011 Grey Poupon Rising Chef Award from Le Cordon Bleu and Grey Poupon. In addition, he has earned the title of Titanium Chef Champion five times. He attributes his success to good friendships in the industry, strong ethics, integrity and staying on top of culinary trends.

Before venturing onto his vocational path, Mr. Peden earned an associate degree in culinary arts from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts. A certified pastry chef, culinarian and nutritionist and ServSafe instructor and proctor, he possessed a Maricopa County Food Manager's Card from Maricopa County Public Health from 2014 to 2017, and held a State of Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One Clearance Card from 2014 to 2020.

A volunteer within his local community, Mr. Peden sits on the board of the American Sheriff Foundation, and he founded Mise En Place Campus Foundation. He supports the American Cancer Society, Singletons, the Joy Bus, Advocate and the PMD Foundation. Of his many professional accomplishments, Mr. Peden is especially proud to witness the growth and development of his students.
