Marquis Who's Who Honors Lawrence Cromwell for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Education

Mr. Cromwell taught math and science, including advanced placement calculus and chemistry for more than 30 years on four continents and is currently teaching and tutoring part-time on a self-employed basis.

Mr. Cromwell is an experienced self-employed writer who has spent over 30 years teaching math and science, including advanced placement calculus and advanced placement chemistry to upper-level students.

In addition to teaching in the U.S., Mr. Cromwell had the opportunity to teach in Kenya, South Korea, and at SHAPE American High School in Belgium, which was the pinnacle of his career in education. Mr. Cromwell has taught on four different continents throughout the course of his teaching profession.

In 2021, Mr. Cromwell authored his first novel, titled "Seven Manipulated Minds." He has also contributed numerous short stories. He aims to continue writing in the future so that he can impact individuals on a larger scale. Among his many other professional accomplishments, Mr. Cromwell secured a utility patent in 2010 for an invention that enables those wearing winter gloves to still be able to type on their cell phones. He also completed a 10-day Teacher-at-Sea work assignment with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration on the ship Whiting in 1997.

Deeply invested in civic and nonprofit initiatives, Mr. Cromwell notably served two years as a volunteer in the U.S. Peace Corps, where he taught mathematics, science, and English in Kenya and learned how to speak and understand Swahili fluently. He also climbed Mt. Kenya while there. Mr. Cromwell has also been a longtime advocate of environmental and animal-related causes.

Mr. Cromwell is a member of Mensa International and Intertel in the top 2% and top 1% of the population in IQ testing scores, respectively. He is also a brown belt in karate. He has completed 3 marathons and many half-marathons.

An alumnus of Florida International University, Mr. Cromwell received a Bachelor of Arts in sociology and anthropology as the first in his family to earn an undergraduate degree. He also took flying lessons, completing over 40 hours at Osan Air Base while stationed in Korea.
