Experienced in various areas of the industry, including infectious disease, orthopedics, ophthalmology, cardiology, and oncology, Dr. Persaud came from Regeneron in Tarrytown, New York, where she served as a senior manager and clinical study lead from 2020 to 2021. She also served as the director of clinical research for orthopedic surgery at Northwell Health in Lake Success, New York, between 2019 and 2021 and as a consultant for various companies from 2019 to 2020. During the earlier stage of her career, Dr. Persaud was a clinical research manager for the Vitreous Retina Macular Consultants of New York and a certified clinical research coordinator for North Shore University Hospital and The Long Island Brain Tumor Center at Neurological Surgery PC.

Despite her desire to become a pediatrician, Dr. Persaud took a year off after graduating from medical school and began conducting clinical research. She subsequently became fascinated by the work and quickly developed a passion for it. Throughout the course of her professional career, Dr. Persaud was most honored to be a part of a clinical trial team that participated in a study for a drug for heart failure. It was also the first time that she first handedly was able to experience how clinical trials can contribute and impact a patient's life. A groundbreaking experience for Dr. Persaud was watching a patient near complete heart failure and kidney failure make a full recovery during his participation in the clinical trial.

Looking toward the future of her career, Dr. Persaud envisions becoming the vice president of clinical operations. Eventually, Dr. Persaud aims to earn the role of the chief operating officer in her area of expertise.

As a part of her established commitments to community service, Dr. Persaud has been donating to GBS/CIDP Foundation International since 2018. Highly educated, she received a Bachelor of Arts in sociology at the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 2007, followed by a Doctor of Medicine at the American University of Antigua in Saint John in 2013. Additional educational pursuits to her credit include credentials through ACRP as a clinical research coordinator and multiple publications and abstracts.**

To remain aware of developments in her field, Dr. Persaud is a professional member of the American College of Research Professionals. Dr. Persaud was also notably recognized for her expertise when she was asked to lead a major clinical trial during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
