Inspired by her mother and aunt, who underwent nursing training and joined the United States Army together, Ms. Ledbetter was driven to pursue a career in the military. Additionally, her father retired as a First Sergeant and her uncles were also in the service. After joining the United States Army in 1982, she gained valuable expertise in the field as a Director of Instruction for the U.S. Army. Throughout her career, she has developed numerous innovative programs, including a customer-focused model for the administrative section for active and reserve components at Fort. Lewis and another program for the chemical unit in which she served, which was adopted by the 91st and 104th divisions as their model for small cells of instructors across the country. In light of her professional achievements, Ms. Ledbetter has been honored many times, earning five Meritorious Service Medals, three Civilian Service Awards, three Army Commendation Medals, and four Army Achievement Medals.
