Dedicated to serving his faith and his community, Dr. Howard has found success as a pastor and transformational leadership doctor for several years. Having been born to a teenage mother, he was placed in foster care when he was two years old and raised by foster parents since then. After experimenting with jobs in various industries, including having an in-home personal training business and working as an exercise physiologist, he served as a teacher in the Philadelphia area. He began his pastoral work more than 15 years ago.
To prepare for his professional journey, Dr. Howard earned a Bachelor of Science in health sciences and kinesiology from West Chester University in 1998 and completed coursework and a special education certification program at Eastern University. To deepen his understanding on how best to care for his congregants and his community, he attended the Nonprofit Institute at the Netter Center for Community Partnerships of the University of Pennsylvania and underwent an end of life training program in hospice and palliative care at the university.
Following this time, in 2007, Dr. Howard began his career as the chief executive officer for his own company, Howard and Associates LLC and kept this role for 10 years. During his tenure, he also began serving his faith as an associate minister for Bethel AME Church in 2011. He utilized his business acumen as well as his leadership skills as the executive director for God With Us Ministries from 2016 to 2020. In 2017, he retired from his company to become the vice president of the Mainline Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People for a year. He also started a role as the senior pastor for Saint John AME Church, which he continues to the present. Dr. Howard attained a Master of Divinity from the Reformed Episcopal Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry, with a focus on transformational leadership, from the Payne Theological Seminary in 2018.
After achieving his doctorate degree, Dr. Howard began serving as a law enforcement chaplain for Delaware County and has been a police senior chaplain for Radnor Township since 2016. Since 2019, he has also been a hospice chaplain for Tri-County Hospice and an adjunct professor for Reformed Episcopal Seminary. Throughout the course of his life, he has worked to instill the principles he has learned through adversity and hardship, seeking to inspire everyone he encounters, meeting them where they are rather than trying to force them to his own viewpoint. In recognition of his dedicated work as a pastor and community leader, Dr. Howard received a citation from the State Representative of Pennsylvania, Jennifer O'Mara.
Dr. Howard has also provided his expertise to readers via his book, "Transforming Male Leaders in the Twenty-First Century-Church Through Training in Transformative Learning and Transformational Leadership," which was published under Christian Faith Publishing Inc. in 2019. He has also established a radio show, "Total Transformation Radio" on WWDB 860 AM and WTMR 800 AM, with his wife as his co-host.
