Donald "Lee" Louis Edwards, Ed.D. Celebrated for Dedication to the Field of Education

Dr. Edwards specializes in Catholic education at Saint Thomas University and the Archdiocese of Miami



Alongside his work, Dr. Edwards dedicates himself to Miami Dade County's Department of Children's Services as a Guardian ad Litem.

    MIRAMAR, FL, December 08, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Donald "Lee" Louis Edwards, Ed.D. has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Backed by years of professional expertise in education and service to the community, Dr. Edwards presently excels as an adjunct professor of leadership and education at Saint Thomas University. Similarly, he serves as the Associate Superintendent of schools for the Archdiocese of Miami. Dr. Edwards was formerly president and principal of Bishop Byrne Middle and High School and Memphis Catholic High School in Memphis, Tennessee where he was also an adjunct professor of education at Christian Brothers University and the University of Memphis.

In his work with the Archdiocese, Dr. Edwards designs programs to assist pastors, boards, and search committees; provides workshops and seminars for Catholic school leaders; and creates protocols for comprehensive quality analysis and improvement. Additionally, Dr. Edwards is a national consultant with Catholic School Management, Inc.

Dr. Edwards attributes his development as a Catholic educational leader to the rich and inspiring experiences that he has had at Bishop College, Southwestern at Memphis, the University of Thomas, The University of Memphis, Christian Brothers University, Nova Southeastern University, Bishop Lynch High School, St. Peter Academy, Jesuit High School, St. Michael School, Memphis Catholic High School and Middle School, just to name a few. With undergraduate and graduate studies in music, choral music, composition and arranging, Dr. Edwards is also an accomplished musician and choral director. Dr. Edwards also appreciates the inspiration of Sr. Mary Francis Regis Trojano, SSJ, Sr. Marie Ann Ballard, SCN, and numerous other religious, ordained and lay educators who have inspired and supported him on his journey of faith and development.

Alongside his work, Dr. Edwards dedicates himself to Miami Dade County's Department of Children's Services as a Guardian ad Litem. Likewise, he contributes to "Gifts From the Guardian Angel" and St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. In order to remain abreast of changes in the field, he aligns himself with the National Catholic Educational Association, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, the National Association of Black Catholic Administrators and numerous other civic, Church and professional organizations.

An expert in his field, Dr. Edwards holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bishop College, a Master of Education from the University of Memphis, and a Doctor of Education degree from Nova Southeastern University. Over the years, he has become a celebrated Catholic educational professional and was named to Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities. In light of his outstanding achievements, he won the Martin de Porres Award, and numerous other awards and accolades.

Though his career has been filled with highlights, Dr. Edwards takes the most pride in completing his doctorate degree, and being invited to fill his current roles with the Archdiocese of Miami and St. Thomas University. The cornerstone of his success lies in his determination, persistence, the inspiration of those around him, and encouragement from his parents and family. Looking ahead, Dr. Edwards plans to continue his work in the educational apostolate of the archdiocese and inspire others to commit themselves to the art and science of education, most importantly, Catholic education.
