ATLANTA, GA, December 09, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dan Moore Sr. has been inducted into Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Drawing on more than five decades of professional experience, Mr. Moore is a filmmaker and museum owner and curator, who specializes in Black history. He commenced his career in film in Africa in 1967, where he interfaced with the president of Liberia. He subsequently filmed an official production about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. for the National Park Service.

In addition to his vocation as a filmmaker, Mr. Moore is the founder and president of the African American Panoramic Experience Museum (APEX) in Atlanta, Georgia — an institution that he established in 1978 with a mission to interpret and present history from an African-American perspective with a complete view of African and African-American history and culture. Mr. Moore notes that he was inspired to establish the APEX Museum after attending a banquet held in honor of Dr. Benjamin Mays, an American Baptist minister and the former president of Morehouse College.

Also a prolific author, Mr. Moore's written works include "Guide to Nonprofit Development," published in 2012, "Sweet Auburn: Street of Pride," released in 2007, and "Black Codes in Georgia," published in 2006. Additionally, he has written, directed and produced various films and documentaries, including "On Patrol for God," "Welcome Home," "The Journey," "Sweet Auburn Street of Pride," and "A New Time for a New Voice."

Mr. Moore is particularly proud of his work as the founder of the APEX Museum and its sponsorship of APEX Share Expo, a virtual around-the-clock presentation of 50 nonprofit organizations that provide various community services. Long dedicated to civic advocacy, Mr. Moore serves as the founder and president of Gift of Life Marrow Registry Inc., an initiative that educates the public about leukemia and sickle cell anemia. Additionally, he is active with the African American Regional Educational Alliances.

Looking toward the future, Mr. Moore aspires to raise a building in the museum's parking area, where he aims to hold special exhibitions of African-American history from the age of the pyramids to the presidency of Barack Obama.
