Having accrued 45 years of experience, Dr. Chrisman is a proven leader in the field of chemical technology. In 2017, he and his colleagues founded Norse Biotech AS, a company dedicated to developing and implementing an array of innovative and sustainable biomass sourced products. Additionally, since 2012, he has served as the principal of Chrisman Consulting, where he focuses on biotechnology business development in various regions of the United States. Prior to his current appointments, Dr. Chrisman lived and worked in Italy as a senior scientist and analytical consultant for MATRIC Europa from 2011 to 2013, and he originally began his career in 1977, working with Dow Chemical as a chemical sciences capability development leader until 2004.
Before embarking on his vocational journey, Dr. Chrisman cultivated a higher education. Beginning his collegiate career at Manchester College, he earned a Bachelor of Science in chemistry in 1969. He subsequently continued his studies at Purdue University, where he achieved a Doctor of Philosophy in inorganic chemistry in 1976. Furthermore, Dr. Chrisman served as an affiliated professor and visiting scholar at the University of Washington for several years. To commemorate his professional and academic accomplishments, Purdue University honored Dr. Chrisman in 2006 as a Distinguished Science Alumni.
In light of his fulfilling career, Dr. Chrisman largely attributes his success to the guidance of his mentors, particularly his former chemistry professor, Professor Tobias, who served as a noteworthy source of inspiration. Accounting for his achievements, he is most notably proud to have been awarded multiple patents, coauthored books and papers and given several presentations pertaining to his work in the field around the world in such countries as the United States, Italy, England and Norway. Though Dr. Chrisman expects he will retire sometime in the coming years, he looks forward to continuing his work for as long as he is able.
