After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in social work from Northwestern University in 1985, Father Stephen J. Brandow began his career as a social worker at Woodview Regional Hospital in Pineville, Louisiana. For the following five years, he served as a medical clerk for the Alexandria VA Healthcare System prior to delving into the field of ministry services. He earned a Master of Divinity from the Notre Dame Seminary Graduate School of Theology in 1996, and went on to serve as an associate pastor at St. Rita Parish in Alexandria, Louisiana, from 1996 to 1997. Additionally, he served in the same capacity for Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Tioga, Louisiana, from 1997 to 2000.
