As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

In June 2019, the 100th Anniversary of The American Legion, Dianne was elected by her peers to become the first female to be elected as state Commander of the Florida American Legion for the 2019/2020 year. Having spent more than 25 years with The American Legion, she has served in many positions within the American Legion. She presently serves as the chair of the Florida American Legion Children & Youth Commission. As part of her many responsibilities Ms. Boland frequently travels to attend meetings, educating the public on various important programs, which include managing fundraising events, Boys State and Girls State programs, which teaches the structure of our government and many other youth programs.

Throughout the course of her tenure with the American Legion, Ms. Boland also served notably as a Post Adjutant, Post Finance, Post Commander, 11th District Commander, and went through the chairs of 1st, 2nd and 3rd Vice Commander of the state of Florida, The American Legion. At the National Convention in August 2022 she was elected nationwide as President of The American Legion Past Department Commander's Club.

Looking toward the future, Ms. Boland plans to continue serving her community as a part of the American Legion. However, she plans to serve statewide as opposed to nationally.

After graduating from Lordstown High School, Ms. Boland served her country in the U.S. Air Force on active duty from 1965 to 1968 as an accounting and disbursement specialist. She subsequently served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves from 1978 to 1998, serving to the highest enlisted rank of chief master sergeant (E-9). Additionally, Ms. Boland holds an associate's degree.

Ms. Boland is a life member of the American Legion. She is also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, AMVETS, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and is a member and officer of the Southwest Florida Military Museum and Library.

In 2022, Ms. Boland was recognized as a Runner-Up in Women of Distinction. She also received a Hometown Hero Award. She credits her success to her struggles while coming of age and her determination to succeed in her adult life. Furthermore, Ms. Boland attributes her good fortune to her strong leadership and communication skills and the care and compassion that she has for others.
