TALIHINA, OK, December 14, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Carolyn J. Moore-Elgin has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
After working as president of the Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute from 1990 until 2001, Dr. Moore-Elgin retired from the field. In her work with the Institute, she created an expanded program for the school and worked with different corporations to provide internships for those that needed them. Although she is now retired, the education of Native Americans is still a cause that is near and dear to her heart. Through her charitable works in the community and her church, she dedicates herself to Native American education.
An expert in her field, Dr. Moore-Elgin earned an undergraduate and graduate degree before earning an EdD from the University of New Mexico. Due to her vast breadth of experience and knowledge, she has been honored many times, earning the American Indian Science and Engineering Award and an Outstanding Women in Business Award through the local women in business organization. Likewise, in 2001, Dr. Moore-Elgin won the Ely S. Parker Award for her dedication to Native American education.
Though hard work, dedication, and drive to help the Native American community brought her far in her career, Dr. Moore-Elgin attributes her success to her self-discipline, tenacity, and her determination to achieve her goals. Within the coming years, Dr. Moore-Elgin aims to continue dedicating her time and energy to Native American education through her charitable endeavors.
