With several decades of experience to her credit Ms. Courlander has cultivated a career of excellence in the field of education and Speech Pathology. Prior to retiring from full-time work in 2007, she operated as a clinical supervisor in speech pathology, and as an instructor at Central Michigan University for nearly four years, heading up the Summer Speech Camp, and prior to that, developed a Speech Pathology Assistant program at Southwestern Community College in Sylva, North Carolina. In addition to her duties as an educator Ms. Courlander has also practiced Speech Pathology at the Hurley Medical Center in Flint, Michigan, Saint Elizabeth Hospital in northern Kentucky and in her own private practice in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Before embarking on her vocational journey, Ms. Courlander graduated with a bachelor's degree in speech education at Northwestern University in 1962 and a Master of Arts in Speech Pathology at the University of Cincinnati in 1976. To remain abreast of developments in her field she has attended many conferences pertinent to her vocation. She has also volunteered in teaching English as a Second Language (ESL). Outside of her professional work, Ms. Courlander regularly volunteers her time at a local cat shelter.
