Originally established in 1983, Mr. Fry spent 25 years managing The Junction Restaurant and Lounge in Perry, Missouri, before purchasing the established eatery in 2021. Serving as a staple in the small town, the restaurant offers a large selection of traditional breakfast, lunch, and dinner favorites seven days per week. The Junction also features live music and has a seating capacity that can accommodate 400 guests.
A family-owned and operated eatery that was originally founded by Mr. Fry's uncle, The Junction was subsequently sold to his uncle's son in 2007. After a devastating fire the following year, however, the restaurant had to be torn down and completely rebuilt again. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Fry returned to work where he continued to enjoy a long and successful career in restaurant management.
Presently overseeing all daily operations, Mr. Fry notes the importance of maintaining the longstanding reputation that the restaurant developed many years ago. Valuing the importance of community and family traditions, he strives to offer quality food at an affordable price. Looking toward the future, Mr. Fry is considering making several interior improvements including a reception hall. Nevertheless, his long-term goal is to have his son eventually take over the business and continue the family legacy when he is ready to retire.
To further support his restaurant and his commitment to the community, Mr. Fry is a member of the Perry Chamber of Commerce. He has also served as a volunteer firefighter and is licensed in emergency medical services. Additionally, Mr. Fry has been instrumental in raising funds via the Perry Fireman's Live Auction Dinner, which has been held at The Junction for the past five years in a row and has raised more than $200,000.
In 2022, The Junction Restaurant and Lounge was voted Best Family Restaurant in the Tri-State Area of Missouri, Illinois, and Iowa. Mr. Fry has also garnered recognition in various local newspapers and on several local news stations for his dedication to the hospitality industry.
