Drawing on years of expertise in nursing with specialties in trauma and critical care nursing, Ms. Morales presently excels as a trauma program manager for Ryder Trauma Center/Jackson South. Since joining the Center in 2022, she has maintained responsibility for the development, implementing, and maintaining a cost-effective system of care, developed policies and procedures, represented the program on several hospital and community committees, and participated in the budget process. Previously, Ms. Morales worked for the Jackson Health System as a corporate clinical care/trauma educator and for the Ryder Trauma Center in the trauma and burn intensive care units.
During the early stages of her career, Ms. Morales gained valuable expertise with the University of Maryland Medical Center's Shock Trauma Center, where she received the Daisy Award for her outstanding work in trauma care. In order to remain abreast of ongoing industry changes, she aligns herself with the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses. Similarly, Ms. Morales is affiliated with the Society of Trauma Nurses and the Association of Florida Trauma Coordinators.
An expert in her field, Ms. Morales holds a Bachelor of Science from Miami Dade College. Over the years, she expanded upon her knowledge by completing a trauma nurse core course, becoming an advanced cardiovascular life support and basic life support instructor, and earning a certification in advanced burn life support. In recognition of her outstanding body of work, she has been honored several times, earning the TICU Best Nurse-Physician Relationship Award in 2015 and the TICU Nurse of the Year Award in 2011. In 2021, she was also nominated for the Preceptor of the Year Award. In the coming years, Ms. Morales intends to experience continued success in her career.
