After over a four-decade career in the medical products industry, Mr. Kallay transitioned into insurance. Inspired by his late wife who passed away in 2021 and initially wanted him to oversee Kallay Insurance Agency's security products, he accepted the challenge and has been keeping her legacy alive ever since. Representing Allstate in Bermuda Dunes, California, Mr. Kallay serves as a professional finance representative and exclusive agent at his agency. In addition to assessing the immediate and long-term needs of his clients, he helps them explore various options before choosing the ones that meet their unique needs. He notably specializes in selling various types of personal and business insurance and policies, which range from home, automobile, and other types of personal property, to business, life insurance and financial products. When he is not busy working with clients, Mr. Kallay frequently conducts insurance reviews, manages the overall operations of his agency, and mentors and supervises his three employees.
As a former medical products manager, Mr. Kallay's longevity in the field garnered him extensive experience in orthopedics, cardiovascular medicine, laboratory science, and dialysis where he sold equipment and sterilants to dialysis centers. During his long career in medical devices and products, he worked in sales for Howmedica Inc. in New Jersey, USCI in Massachusetts, and Intermedics in Texas. His role at each of these companies was as a surgical specialist and, over the next few years, gained experience with several other leading medical products organizations. In 1982, Mr. Kallay was hired by Renal Systems (now Minntech Corporation) in Minneapolis, where he spent the next almost four decades as an area manager for renal products in the western U.S. and Pacific. Responsible for selling, installing, training, and occasionally servicing dialyzer reprocessing equipment and related supplies, he also sold various other types of renal dialysis supplies to dialysis centers. In 2019, Mr. Kallay, with the same dedication he applied to his positions in the medical field, he applied himself to KALL-MED Inc. dba Kallay Insurance Agency. Mr. Kallay also assisted his wife Loni, for over twenty years, in producing State events for Mrs. America, Inc.
Looking toward the future, Mr. Kallay plans to continue building his insurance practice before retiring in another five years. He is also considering becoming involved in consulting work and more charitable activities and is considering pursuing a master's degree. Mr. Kallay is presently volunteering his free time at a local animal shelter in Palm Springs, California.
An alumnus of Ohio University, Mr. Kallay received a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1967. During his high school years, he notably became involved in competitive artistic roller skating and, after completing college, became active again in the sport again.
Mr. Kallay's career has been greatly supported through membership with the American Management Association. He is also a member of Phi Kappa Sigma. Recognizing his professional achievements, Mr. Kallay has received numerous internal awards throughout the course of his professional career from several of his former employers.
