Prior to her current role, Ms. Shah began her career initially in Kentucky in 2012, but moved to Hawaii in 2013 where she began her career as an intensive care nurse for the Tripler Army Medical Center. She then served as a cardiovascular surgery intensive care nurse for the Cleveland Clinic from 2017 to 2019. Additionally, she is a valued member of the American Nurses Association and the Association of Critical Care Nurses with a publication which was presented at American Organization of Nurse Executives in 2016.
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Shah earned an associate's degree as a registered nurse from Madisonville Community College in 2012. She then attained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University in 2017 and a master's degree in nursing from the University of Miami in 2020. Well-qualified in her field, she is board-certified in family medicine as a nurse practitioner. Following her undergraduate education, she was invited to be a preceptor charge nurse and participated in different types of leadership committees.
Having grown up in a small city in Kentucky that doesn't have many wealthy people in it, Ms. Shah saw many people in her community go without medical care because they couldn't afford it. She was spurred to become a nurse to help people in such need, learning how to take care of a variety of issues throughout her nursing career and ultimately specializing in cardiovascular care.
