Leveraging more than four decades of excellence in early childhood education, Ms. Arnold has earned distinction as a consultant for the Southwest Family Guidance Center. Since 2018, she has focused her efforts on providing trauma-informed educational practices to school staff through the Thriving Students Program, working with school staff and teachers to help them provide support for students who suffered trauma, abuse and neglect.
Outside of her primary career efforts, Ms. Arnold is a valued member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children and the American Psychological Association. Also a dedicated civil advocate, she served as the president of the Council for Exceptional Children's Division for Early Childhood.
Prior to her current role, Ms. Arnold began her career as a school teacher for elementary school students in various districts in New Mexico, later becoming a school psychologist and program manager of the early childhood educators program for the University of New Mexico. Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Arnold earned a bachelor's degree from New Mexico State University in 1975. She then attained a Master of Arts in early childhood and special education with 45 credit hours from the same institution in 1992.
Within the coming years, Ms. Arnold intends to continue to grow her practice and manage her own program at Southwest Family Guidance Center, depending on what the center requires moving forward.
