CUPERTINO, CA, December 23, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Bernard Fidric has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Drawing on years of engineering expertise, Mr. Fidric presently serves as a hardware engineer with Waymo LLC, which was formerly known as the Google Self-Driving Car Project. Previously, he worked in a senior management product development position for Spectra-Physics, where he maintained responsibility for creating industrial pulsed laser products. During the early stages of his career, Mr. Fidric expanded upon his knowledge with various institutions, including Spectra-Physics, Picarro Inc., JDSU/SDL, and the Northrop Grumman Corporation. Throughout his myriad roles, he has developed considerable knowledge of laser and fiber optics technologies, as well as product development within the photonics industry.

Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, Mr. Fidric aligns himself with the Optical Society of America. In light of his vast breadth of knowledge, he has obtained more than 35 patents in the industry, including one for a "fiber depolarizer for fabry-perot laser diodes," "Overcoming L-I kink effects in a laser diode feedback control" and a "short wavelength fiber laser." An expert in his field, Mr. Fidric holds a postgraduate degree in mathematical physics from the Pierre and Marie Curie University, a Master of Engineering from Centrale Supelec, and a Master of Science in applied physics from Stanford University.

While his career has been filled with standout moments, Mr. Fidric takes the most pride in developing the first optical amplifiers for telecom, which led to the internet. Though hard work and dedication have brought him far, he attributes his success to his in-depth knowledge of physics, which has allowed him to adapt from one technology to the next in rapid succession. Additionally, he credits the work ethic instilled in him by his parents. In the coming years, Mr. Fidric aims to see the emergence of autonomous cars around the world.
