KERNERSVILLE, NC, December 27, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Deborah M. Rosenquist has been included in Marquis Who's Who. With years of experience in medical nutrition therapy to her credit, Mrs. Rosenquist leverages her expertise to help heal patients through healthy nutrition. She presently serves as clinical dietitian and certified diabetes educator for Atrium Wake Forrest Baptist Health Care. She began working for Cornerstone Health Care in 2003 as clinical dietitian and then director of the self-management diabetic education services program which is now part of Atrium Wake Forrest Health Care. In this role she consults patients on a positive dietary pattern for their individual needs. She also teaches classes for the self-management diabetic education services which is an accredited program with the American Diabetes Association. She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists. She is also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma which is an international organization for female teachers. She is president of DKG Chi chapter in High Point, North Carolina for 2022 until 2024. She has had some wonderful opportunities. For instance, speaking in workshops for High Point University in their sports workshops for coaches, North Carolina Pharmacist workshop, and other workshops on the topic of healthy nutrition. Before Covid she was the branch manager for the Gluten Intolerance Group of High Point.
Before working at her present position, she was a consulting dietitian for several health care centers and the clinical dietitian for Presbyterian Home of High Point for over 30 years which is now at the new location since 2003 called River Landing at Sandy Ridge Retirement Center which is part of Brightspire, a faith based not for profit, Life Plan Communities for seniors. The position evolved from a clinical dietitian to a consulting dietitian position. She continues in this position reviewing menus, counseling residents, and completing nutritional assessments. An individual questioned her on how she could stay at such a challenging position so long and she replied, "I fell in love with the people." In her role as dietitian it has been her honor to mentor five students through the dietary manager course with the University of Florida. She currently has one student in the program.
Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Mrs. Rosenquist earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics with a Composite Science Minor. She taught science, physical education, and home economics for eight years. She completed her Master of Education Degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in Food, Food Service Management and Nutrition in 1982.
In recognition of her work as Chairman of the Consulting Dietitians in North Carolina, Mrs. Rosenquist was nominated for the Dietitian of the Year award for North Carolina in 1998. She has cultivated a passion for nutrition while pursuing her education, gaining the understanding that what people eat is crucial to their overall health. Since arriving at the realization, she has devoted herself to helping people improve their lives through the discipline of medical nutrition therapy.
She enjoys her hobbies which include her Olde English Babydoll sheep. There are currently 8 ewes and 4 rams on Rose on Twigg Farm. Spinning the wool and knitting items or felting it are the rewards of having sheep wool. She also has enjoyed teaching primary children for Sunday school and helping with children with autism.
