Outside of his primary career efforts, Mr. Teklu is an accomplished author. He published an English-Tigrigna dictionary in 1987 and has written five children's books. He draws heavily from his experiences as well as his philosophy stressing the importance of investing in children to build a better society in the future.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Teklu worked as a computer engineer for TVI. Prior to embarking on his professional journey, he earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics, computers and engineering from the University of North Carolina in 1982. He then attained a master's degree in education management.
Within the coming years, Mr. Teklu intends to write more educational books and to continue to contribute to society in whatever ways he can. A people-oriented individual by nature, he was driven to success by his parents, who were similarly inclined to serving their community and working to better society.
