She was promoted to marine laboratory director in 1979, programs and operations manager in 1981 and vice president in 1983. In 1988, she was promoted to president and chief executive officer. In 2015, she was selected board chair and remained chief executive officer and board chair until 2020 when she transitioned the firm to new leadership.
