Long dedicated to service on behalf of her community and faith, Ms. Roten has distinguished herself alongside her husband as one of the founders of Kingdom Overflow Ministries. Initially established in 2020, the nonprofit Christian organization aspires to meet the worldly and spiritual needs of the local community through such selfless endeavors as housing projects, outreach events, conferences and worship nights, as well as working on behalf of the underprivileged. Among these efforts, Ms. Roten and her husband are most proud to have visited Appalachian State University in November of 2021 and given out over 600 "mom and dad" hugs to the college campus, an event that garnered significant attention from the Epoch Times and K-LOVE, as well as Facebook.
Looking ahead, Ms. Roten and her husband plan to begin building low-income housing through Kingdom Overflow Ministries to provide temporary shelter to those recovering from addiction and children aging out of the foster care system, with a future aspiration of extending such service to the homeless. In this capacity, the couple hopes to parlay much-needed skills to these populations in building their own homes and connecting with their local community as they transition out of the program.
Outside of her work at Kingdom Overflow Ministries, Ms. Roten has maintained her affiliation with Samaritan's Purse, a nonprofit evangelical Christian humanitarian aid organization headquartered in Boone, North Carolina. Led by Franklin Graham, the organization focuses on providing much-needed aid to the underprivileged. Spearheading numerous ministry projects all over the world, including The Greatest Journey, a discipleship program, the organization collaborates with area churches throughout many different countries, providing them with literature and training so that they can continue in their discipleship. In her role with Samaritan's Purse, Ms. Roten serves as the marketing strategy manager of Operation Christmas Child, a large-scale Christmas project that seeks to ensure that the organization's shoebox gifts are filled with toys, hygiene products, school supplies, and other items before being shipped to approximately 100 countries throughout the world. Among her many other responsibilities, she also manages the organization's national email and marketing channels.
Originally joining Samaritan's Purse in 2012 as a media relations associate, Ms. Roten quickly rose to become a media relations coordinator, marketing coordinator and marketing strategy assistant manager before being promoted to her present position in 2020. Prior to being recruited by the organization, she worked as an advertising and marketing specialist for Light's at Stone Mill from 2007 to 2015 and a lead writer and editor of the technology and design department at James Madison University between 2011 to 2012.
Ms. Roten is an alumnus of James Madison University, where she acquired a Bachelor of Arts in communication, media arts, and design in 2012. She also received certification in advanced social media strategy through Hootsuite in 2018.
