William Noland Elsaesser, PhD, Lauded for Excellence in Shellfish Ecology

Dr. Elsaesser channels years of experience into his work with CARDNO, MOKA and SWCA

GRAND HAVEN, MI, January 04, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- William Noland Elsaesser, PhD, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

While attending high school, Dr. Elsaesser volunteered with the American Red Cross and United Way, through which he became involved with young adults living with autism. His interactions with children encouraged him to pursue a career in medicine before eventually switching to his life love of marine science. During the early stages of his career, he worked as a hatchery manager and aquaculture technician in Palmetto, Florida, where he worked between 1999 and 2001. Subsequently, Dr. Elsaesser served as a research associate and laboratory instructor at the University of South Florida.

More recently, Dr. Elsaesser worked as a project scientist for CARDNO ENTRIX. Supported by years of knowledge in shellfish and reproductive ecology, bivalve aquaculture, comparative physiology and more, he presently excels as a BTO project scientist for CARDNO, where he has provided expert services in aquatic resource damage assessment and document development. Alongside his work with CARDNO, Dr. Elsaesser serves as an on-call project scientist with SWCA and as an assistant home supervisor with MOKA's Adult Foster Care, through which he manages support staff and supports the individuals living in their home.

An expert in his field, Dr. Elsaesser holds a Bachelor of Science in biological and biomedical sciences from Florida State University and a PhD in biological oceanography from the University of South Florida's College of Marine Sciences. Driven to remain aware of changes in the field, he is affiliated with the National Shellfisheries Association. In conjunction with his work, he contributes to his community via the American Red Cross, Save Our Seas and United Way. Though his career has been filled with highlights, he is most proud of the relationships he has built in his work with MOKA's Adult Foster Care. In the coming years, Dr. Elsaesser aims to conduct research regarding the climate and bivalves.
