An expert in her field, she holds a diploma from Brockton Hospital School of Nursing, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix and both a Masters and Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Walden University. A fitting culmination of her terminal degree was her dissertation, Introducing the Health Coach Method of Motivational Interviewing to Medical Assistants to Improve the Patient Care Approach. In order to remain abreast of changes in the field, Dr. Souza remains board certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and aligns herself with Sigma Theta Tau International, the Massachusetts Coalition of Nurse Practitioners, the Developmental Disabilities Nurse Association and the National Society of Leadership and Success. Over the years, she has expanded upon her knowledge by becoming a certified developmental disabilities nurse.
Believing it is important to always give back to both her profession and community, Dr. Souza continues philanthropy activities through the Kentucky Colonel's Good Works Program, the Massachusetts Nurse's Honor Guard and volunteer work with her father's local veterans group.
Due to her outstanding body of work, Dr. Souza was bestowed the honor of Kentucky Colonel from Governor Steven L. Beshear. Early achievements include receiving the Janice Dubois Clancy Memorial Scholarship for exemplary clinical performance, displaying qualities of leadership and compassion along with the Gelpe-Erickson Memorial Award for academic and clinical performance in 2007. Though her career has been filled with standout moments, she takes the most pride in being promoted to her current position, where her clinical expertise and developing administrative skills will help her lead a patient-centered agency, promoting excellent standards of care.
