Having begun his career in private practice in 1991 as the founder of Boca Raton Dermatology in Boca Raton, Florida, he later joined Dr. Matt Leavitt at Advanced Dermatology in 2002. He spent the next 15 years as a medical director, laboratory director, and head of dermatopathology growing Advanced Dermatology and diagnosing and treating cancerous and precancerous lesions of the skin. Dr. Glanz also spent more than a decade as a dermatologist and dermatology network director at Health Network One in Miami.
Passionate about the field, Dr. Glanz enjoys giving back to the community as Lab Director of On Spot Dermatology, a mobile platform that brings dermatology services to the underserved throughout the state and individuals who would otherwise not be able to be screened for cancer and melanoma.
He is presently working to complete his first textbook with mentor Charlie Camisa, a legendary world-renowned academic dermatologist and educator. Dr. Glanz looks forward to writing more academic texts in the future.
A skilled and seasoned fisherman, Dr. Glanz spends his downtime with the award-winning members of the Skin-Deep Fishing Team. Dr. Glanz founded The Skin-Deep Fishing Team in 2009. The doctor and his commercial fishing teammates were recognized as Angler Fishing Team of the Year by winning the Super Bowl of Saltwater pro fishing, the Pro SKA Yamaha Saltwater Fishing Series Championship. The team went on to compete and win hundreds of other fishing tournaments, with now famous fishing captains: Capt. Jamie Ralph, Capt. Kurt Marquix, Capt. Ryan Carr, Capt. Kevin Ebersole, Capt. Howard Poe and the late Capt. Bob Barus.
In preparation for his career, Dr. Glanz received a Bachelor of Science in Neuropsychology at the University of Michigan in 1983, followed by a Doctor of Medicine at The Ohio State University in 1987. Additional educational pursuits to his credit include an internship and residency in dermatology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation between 1988 and 1991 and a fellowship in dermatopathology with special expertise in melanoma identification at the University of Florida from 2000 to 2002. Dr. Glanz also earned certification in health care management from the school of business at the University of Miami and became board certified in dermatology through the American Board of Physician Specialties, a nationally recognized multi-specialty certifying body that offers both allopathic (MD) and osteopathic (DO) physicians in all 50 states, Canada and Puerto Rico, recognition of their specialty expertise and board certification since 1960.
As a part of his fishing commitments, Dr. Glanz is a professional member of the Southern Kingfish Association.
