Leveraging more than a decade of excellence in construction and politics, Mr. Brass has earned distinction as the leader of his own company. In this capacity, he is the president of The M4 Connection, LLC (M4 Roof Services). Since 2017, he has focused his efforts on staff management and scheduling as well as conducting fieldwork and site visits. He oversees four employees and subcontractors while handing estimates, proposals, reports, invoicing and other back-office and sales tasks. Additionally, he has served as the president of a joint venture, Brass Construction, LLC since 2020, focused on federal contracting.
Outside of his primary career efforts, Mr. Brass serves as a state senator for the State of Georgia, having started his first term in 2017. In this role, he is a part-time legislator from January through March, passing a balanced state budget, attending floor and committee meetings while attending events within the district and throughout the state to meet the needs of his constituents. He began his tenure as a public servant in 2009 as a volunteer for a state senator at the state capitol. In 2011, he began as a district field representative for the United States House of Representatives working his way up to becoming the chief of staff for a U.S. Congressman in 2015.
Also dedicated to civil advocacy, Mr. Brass is a member of the steering committee for the Georgia Consortium for Advanced Technical Training (GA CATT) and was a deacon for his local church. Additionally, he volunteered as a board member with his local chapter of Habitat for Humanity, was a board member for the Coweta Community Foundation, and was a member of the Newnan Rotary. He has also been a board member of the Communities in Schools Coweta and ELEVATE Coweta Students since 2012.
Before starting his private career, Mr. Brass served honorably in the United States Navy where he completed coursework at the Navy Nuclear Power A School. He then attained a Bachelor of Science in marketing from the University of Georgia in 2003 and an associate degree in golf course management from The Golf Academy of the South in 2004. During his professional career, Matt has earned a diploma in the regional economic and leadership course from the Georgia Academy for Economic Development.
Among his professional accomplishments, Mr. Brass is proud to have received the Legislative Service Award multiple times from the Association County Commissioners of Georgia. In 2017, he was named Legislator of the Year by the Home Builders Association of Georgia and he was named the Georgia Fire Service Legislator of the Year by the Georgia State Fire Fighters Association in 2020. The same year, he was also honored with the David Levine Legislative Award from the Georgia Gerontology Society.
Passionate about his family as well as his community, Mr. Brass intends to be a good role model to his children and raise them successfully. He plans to maintain the sustainable growth of his business while developing and advancing foster care and adoption reforms in the state.
