Since she was a young girl, Susie K. Whitney was involved in the trucking business. Influenced by her father, who ran a trucking company, she desired to follow in her family's footsteps and establish her own business when she got older. Working for several trucking companies early on in her career, she then served in the personnel department for St. Francis Hospital. She then went on to work at Primewood Transportation, DTL Transport, before becoming a broker agent for Midnite Express in 1996. She remained in that role until 2008 when she started SMJ Freight Solutions LLC, where she now serves as president, owner and chief executive officer.
