FORT WAYNE, IN, January 19, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Robert Beatty has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Beatty's most well-known accomplishment was as a systems architect on the creation of NASDAQ. He created and designed the NASDAQ Index. He designed the NASDAQ database; the on-line system which presented the stock quotes to the public, brokers, and market-makers; and the SEC's and NASD's monitoring system.

Other significant accomplishments of Mr. Beatty include merging 5 independent computer departments into one, thereby reducing Cincinnati Electronics' budget by $1.4 million while increasing productivity; managing the implementation of a new $4 billion system for the Ohio Department of Education; and managing the implementation of a new on-line financial system for CompuServe, which enabled a client to view all of a security's information available through a single series of linked screens.

Mr. Beatty gained further valuable experience in the field of information technology as manager of information technology for the Cincinnati United Way and director of information system for Cincinnati Electronics. Drawing on years of professional experience in information technology, Mr. Beatty is now the owner of Peregrine, LLC. Peregrine is a systems planning, design, and implementation company. It has two other departments - Tax Preparation and Communications. He has achieved certifications as a Project Management Professional, a Certified Systems Professional, and a Certified Data Processor. He is also an Enrolled Agent certified by the IRS.

Mr. Beatty has a BS from Carnegie-Mellon University and an MBA from the University of Bridgeport. At Carnegie he felt that the university should have a school mascot. It had never had one before. Mr. Beatty sold the athletic department on the idea and became the first school mascot of Carnegie - a Scottish Terrier. Carnegie has had the Scottie as a mascot now for over 50 years. In 2008, Mr. Beatty and Carnegie President Cohon jointly made the announcement that the Scottie would be Carnegie's official university's symbol.

His communications experience includes being editor of the Mensa World, being published twice in Reader's Digest, and writing articles for technical journals and popular magazines. He has been interviewed often by the media, including ABC and NBC. He was the male lead in a corporate hour-long film viewed by employees across the world.

In 1968 Mr. Beatty authored an article describing a world-wide communications system. We now call the system he described as the Internet. In 2001 he was invited to speak at the International Conference on Intelligence in Singapore, where he spoke on technological developments that will occur by 2025. Many of his predictions are now being produced or are under development.

In light of his professional achievements and his major volunteer activities, the Ohio House of Representatives paid tribute to Mr. Beatty with the passage of a House resolution in his honor. Mr. Beatty has been National Chairman of American Mensa, and had the largest membership increase in Mensa in 35 years. He implemented a Community Service program for United States Mensa and International Mensa. He is a life member of the Boy Scouts, designed the Simon Kenton Council's technical strategic plan, and was a member of the National Boy Scout Board of Directors. He created the International Boy Scout Cyberspace Jamboree. He is a 32nd degree Mason, a Shriner and a founding member of his home Masonic Lodge, Garden Lodge #366. He was a member of the Jaycees where he was named Outstanding Local President in the State and Outstanding State Chairman of Leadership Training in the United States.

Mr. Beatty served his country in several ways. He was a First Lieutenant in the Army where he received a Citation of Merit. He was selected to be in the National Honor Guard at a major party's quadrennial convention. He was elected President of the Ohio Senate of the Ohio Model Legislature. The model legislature has the authority to pass bills for the Senate and House to consider. Mr. Beatty's leadership of the Senate passed the Right Turn on Red law, which soon became legal for all drivers in Ohio.
