As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Backed by years of professional experience in management and research, Dr. Herzberg presently serves as the vice president and head of translational research for Fresh Track Therapeutics, a startup company that focuses on Drug Development. In his work with the company, he uses patient samples from clinical trials to understand how the company's drug candidates work or why they won't work for a specific indication. Previously, Dr. Herzberg worked as a distinguished research fellow and project lead for Myasthenia Gravis Programs at Cabaletta Bio and in various leadership positions with Celularity, Inc., and Celgene. During the early stages of his career, Dr. Herzberg gained valuable experience with Johnson & Johnson, where he worked as a research fellow, team leader, and principal scientist, and numerous other companies and organizations, including Neurogen Corporation, Acorda Therapeutics, Cytotherapeutics, and the National Institutes of Health. While his career has been filled with highlights, Dr. Herzberg takes the most pride in being involved in cell therapy research since its infancy. A testimony to how early and audacious was his involvement, is the work with cells from bovines, which were manipulated and then inserted in capsules that were implanted in patients. The cornerstone of his success lay in his passion for healthcare equality, his upbringing in Israel, and his strong work ethic. In the coming years, Dr. Herzberg intends to achieve clinical success, raise his grandchildren to be productive and compassionate members of society, and improve upon his musical and sailing skills.
