As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

In 2010, Ms. Bennett retired from her long-time roles as both a registered nurse and nurse educator. Drawing inspiration from her mother's example as a health care practitioner, Ms. Bennett earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from McKendree College and an Associate of Nursing from Kentucky State University. She also holds other distinct health care credentials, including the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) certifications.

Ms. Bennett was uniquely honored to have trained under and partnered with Dr. William DeVries, a physician renowned for completing the first artificial heart transplant. In all, she proudly collaborated with 22 cardiac surgeons at Jewish Hospital HealthCare Services, a regional health network of more than 35 facilities in Kentucky and Indiana, having previously served at the Jewish Hospital of Shelbyville, Central State Hospital in Louisville, and Taylorsville Health Care in Taylorsville. Ms. Bennett was also consistently dedicated to teaching and mentoring as a college-level instructor of anatomy, physiology, microbiology, and human growth and development at Kentucky Community & Technical College System between 1999 and 2003.

Likewise dedicated to service on behalf of her country, Ms. Bennett served for six years in the Army National Guard. She also contributed combat medical training while embedded at Fort Sam Houston and Fort McClellan.

A sensitive demeanor and deep compassion for others has helped Ms. Bennett gain the respect of her patients and colleagues. She also prides herself on being attentive and thorough, and is especially gratified to have been invited to work in complex open-heart surgeries and organ retrieval cases. To remain aware of developments in her field, she maintained her affiliation with such organizations as the Association of Operating Room Nurses, the Association of Surgical Technologists and the Kentucky Nurses Association.
Looking toward the future, Ms. Bennet aims to restore her nursing license and return to part-time work, pursuing an intense passion for helping ailing patients.
