Also operating as a delivery service, she employs a staff of five individuals, including her sisters. To prepare for her career as a flower shop owner, Ms. Ramirez saved her money from her many years in the restaurant business and enrolled in a course in Anaheim, California, which she completed in two weeks.

Known for her contributions as a civic-minded citizen, Ms. Ramirez donates flowers to fashion events, in addition to local churches and schools. To remain aware of developments affecting her field, she aligns herself with the Colton Chamber of Commerce. She also remains active with the Colton Woman's Club.

In a career filled with highlights, Ms. Ramirez is most proud of providing a flower service for a wedding event of an influential and important individual. It was the first event she serviced, and it provided an opportunity for exposure and marketing of the business. Looking toward the future, she hopes to continue developing her business and establish a second location to provide employment opportunities to others, particularly women and single mothers. Dedicated to taking care of her employees, Ms. Ramirez allows her staff to occasionally bring their children to the flower shop as she has a special room reserved for them.
