He also oversees those tasked with performing inspections, while he assists with training and vehicle maintenance. Prior to his current role, Mr. DeBiase began his career as a part-time director of operations at the Fire Academy in Chicago. He subsequently joined the City of Hardeeville Fire Department as its chief of operations. Prior to embarking on his professional journey, he earned an Associate of Applied Science in fire science from Columbia Southern University in 20 I6 and a Bachelor of Science in fire services administration from the same institution in 2019.
Mr. DeBiase strives to serve his community beyond fighting fires through efforts like visiting schools, coordinating with civic groups and educating the public. For his own professional development, he is working towards a Master of Business Administration in Public Administration from Columbia Southern University.
In recognition of his excellent work, Mr. DeBiase has received numerous citations over the course of his career. He was also honored with a Fire Chiefs Award in 2015 and was named the Officer of the Year in 2016. Within the coming years, he intends to continue working in fire service, gaining more experience working in more extensive departments.
