Christos Dovas was born and raised on the mainland of Hellas. His deeply traditional experience, classical education, and focus on exploring the intimate relationship between the classical and the modern world are the hallmark of his stunning creations. At an early age Christos Dovas was apprentice to his father Eleftherios Dovas, a custom shoe designer. From his father, Christos Dovas acquired the foundation for his passion to create innovative and classical designs crafted with a master's attention to impeccable construction and precise design. As a teenager, he wanted to create for himself. He became more involved in fabrics and soon after, he began designing for his own boutique.
Seeking the poetry of the world stage, Christos Dovas was awarded a Bachelor of Fine Arts in fashion design from Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. His specialization in evening wear coupled with his study of Theatrical Costume Design and Art History, earned him an internship in the Costume Department of New York's Metropolitan Opera. Shortly after graduation, Christos Dovas launched his company in N.Y.C. There he continued to conceive and create innovative designs with perfect execution. Often compared to sculptures and paintings, "Christos Dovas" designs naturally enhance a woman's inner beauty.
Inspired by the great philosophers from with his homeland, he respects and embraces that purity of form, function, and composition can harmoniously become one, bringing to life a world of imagination, beauty and luxury.
Christos Dovas has earned distinction in the fashion industry. He is the chief executive officer of Christos Dovas New York. Since 2001, he has focused his efforts on crafting Haute Couture wedding dresses, evening gowns, and accessories. He engages in all elements of fashion design, including pattern making, draping and cutting fabric, consulting with clients and doing the fittings. He ensures each detail is in place to make each individual customer happy with their garments' quality standards and finesse.
