Drawing upon excellence as a professional chef, Mr. Johnson is distinguished in his role as senior area general manager of Sodexo, a company that provides facilities management and food services to schools, universities, hospitals, senior living communities and other venues. In his current role, he oversees Sodexo's services to the U.S. House of Representatives. Of note, Mr. Johnson received the Spirit of Service Award for actions taken on January 6, 2021 by him and his team, who prepared and served meals to over 500 members of Congress, their staff, U.S. Capitol Police and the National Guard during the lockdown of the U.S. Capitol Building. He has also received recognition as Multi-Site Manager of the Year for the Government Segment from Sodexo in 2019.
As part of his responsibilities in the field, Mr. Johnson has managed the food services for numerous prominent events. These have included creating the U.S. Capitol Gingerbread Replica, overseeing the U.S. Capitol Easter Sugar Egg Decoration Extravaganza and creating the U.S. Capitol Pumpkin Replica. Prior to his current role, Mr. Johnson served in several positions with Sodexo, including as the district executive chef for the U.S. House of Representatives, the area executive chef for the Quantico Marine Corps and production manager 3 for Bruce Hall at the Quantico Marine Corps Base. Previously, he was chief of training in Air Force One for the United States Air Force.
Mr. Johnson is a member of several pertinent organizations relevant to his field, including the National Business Aviation Association, the American Culinary Federation and HONOR, Sodexo's military employee network group for employees and families connected to the military. He also completed military and strategic leadership training with the U.S. Air Force Non-Commissioned Officer Academy, culinary arts/chef training with the Greystone Culinary Institute of America, and advance culinary training at Fort Lee. Furthermore, he holds a certificate in culinary arts from the EHOVE Career Center.
