    AUBURN HILLS, MI, February 15, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Abraham J. Salazar, MS, PhD, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. Drawing on over four decades of expertise in the field of mechanical engineering, Dr. Salazar specializes in automotive computational fluid dynamics. Since 2012, he has found much success as a manager and, subsequently, a senior manager of research and development at Giffin Inc., a company that provides automotive equipment to automakers. Prior to this role, he built a prolific career in the Mechanical Engineering department at the University of Kentucky from 1991 to 2012, where he served in a variety of roles, including as an associate research professor, an assistant research professor, a senior research engineer associate, a post-doctoral scholar, a graduate research assistant, a consultant and a teaching assistant. During this time, Dr. Salazar was also active as an assistant director and co-founder of the Painting Technology Consortium and the Institute of Research for Technology Development within the College of Engineering at the University of Kentucky from 2000 until 2012.

Dr. Salazar initially began his vocation for solving mechanical engineering problems when he worked as an assistant professor at the Energy Conversion and Transport department at the Simón Bolívar University in Venezuela from 1980 to 1982. Between 1984 and 1990, he garnered expertise as a research engineer in the Reservoir Simulation section of the Reservoir Engineering department at Intevep, the research branch of Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA), while concurrently serving as an adjunct associate professor in the Mechanical Engineering department at the Metropolitan University in Caracas, Venezuela from 1988 to 1989. In his career related endeavors, Dr. Salazar has authored one book, three book chapters, 99 peer-review technical papers and developed 27 patents nationally and internationally.

Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Salazar pursued an education at the Simón Bolívar University in Venezuela, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering specialized in turbomachinery in 1980, and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering specialized in thermo-fluids in 1986. He continued his academic efforts at the University of Kentucky, earning a Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering specialized in computational fluid dynamics in 1998. As a commitment to his field, he has attained a True Lean™ Certification from the College of Engineering at the University of Kentucky in 2010. The True Lean™ program applies the acclaimed Toyota Production System (TPS) to different aspects of manufacturing, including research and development. . Long dedicated to civic advocacy, Dr. Salazar is actively involved in mentoring young professionals and contributing to charity foundations through his missionary work at his local church.

Well regarded for his contributions at Giffin Inc., Dr. Salazar has received the Automotive News PACE Award in 2017. Among his professional accomplishments, he is most proud of his scholarly work and patents, in addition to being one of the first four recipients selected among numerous candidates for the National Council for Scientific and Technological Research master's sponsorship program at the Simón Bolívar University in Venezuela, which led to the expansion of his career and the opportunity to earn a doctorate degree in his specialty from the University of Kentucky. Reflecting on a long career, he attributes much of his success to his Christian faith, his ethical practices and principles, his perseverance as an immigrant, the mentorship of Dr. Antonio Campo and the examples of his father, whose dedication to his family, sacrifices and endurance inspired him to advance further and serve with integrity in all his endeavors.
