Leveraging more than three decades of excellence in civil engineering, Mr. Pierce has earned distinction as a state irrigation engineer and water management engineer with the USDA. From 2005 until his retirement in 2019, he focused his efforts on reviewing high job classes and large projects for private landowners, including reviewing projects that were processed through the state office.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Pierce earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Montana State University-Bozeman in 1996 and received his Civil Engineering Technician Certification from Butte Vocational Tech. Well-qualified in his field, he is a registered professional engineer with the State of Montana. Additionally, he is a valued lifetime member of the Irrigation Association and was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his stellar work. Accounting for his success, he credits his strong work ethic as well as his adaptability when needing to move seven times within Montana, which presented challenges for himself and his family. When he became the state irrigation engineer, he was glad to settle into the area and his role.
Within the coming years, Mr. Pierce intends to continue his work in civil engineering, focusing more on consulting in irrigation and stock water projects and on the practices that he worked on when he was working for the USDA. He also lends his expertise as an irrigation engineer to a mentoring program for young engineers.
