Sulata Mitra Sarkar has been Inducted into the Prestigious Marquis Who's Who Biographical Registry

    NEWARK, CA, February 21, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sulata Mitra Sarkar has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Sulata Sarkar a recent Nobel Peace Prize Nominee came from a distinguished background of a family of freedom fighters, lawyers, and leaders of Indian independence. She has a background steeped in social work and other cultural activities that make her a very strong candidate for this award. With several decades of excellence in the real estate industry in California, Ms. Sarkar has earned distinction as a real estate broker with Viking Realty, Century 21, and owned and operated Sai Realty. She has contributed tremendously to the San Francisco Bay Area community, coordinating Pacific Film archive Film Festivals, Asian Art Museum fundraising, Festivals of India programs in Asian Art Museum, founding a Bengali cultural organization Bay Area Prabasi, Federation of Indian Association, and arranging concerts of Ravi Shankar and renowned Indian dancers and musicians. Over the course of her career, she traveled internationally, connecting with people from various cultures. With assistance from UNESCO, Cambodian authorities and her own family funds installed the 29' 100 Ton Buddha deity depicting peace and harmony in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Additionally, worked tirelessly as a valued founding member of the Hindu Community Cultural Center and completed one of the largest Hindu Shiva-Vishnu temple in Livermore, California.

Prior to embarking on her professional journey, she earned a Bachelor of Arts from Rabindranath Tagore University in India in 1964. Among her professional accomplishments, she was honored with FIA and Best Immigrant awards in 1986. She took leadership in organizing the Festival of India in San Francisco with a large-scale music, dance, and live folk ethnic exhibition ADlTY to California. She then received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Indian Association in 1998 and was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize in 2017. When a close friend and her family tragically died in a car accident in California she helped the surviving orphan boy and provided financial help, counseling, and moral support during his undergraduate and medical college career to become a successful medical doctor.

Within the coming years, Ms. Sarkar intends to establish a school for impoverished children, and transgender people in Kolkata, India, and complete her Cambodia School Project. She also has plans for another charitable endeavor in an area of South Kolkata. Accounting for her success, she credits her passion for helping people and world peace.
